Michael A. Khouri is the current chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission.[1]

Early life

Khouri grew up in the U.S. state of Kentucky. He attended Tulane University in Louisiana and the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Career

Khouri has spent 48 years working in the maritime and wildlife industry to include American Commercial Lines, MERS/Economy Boat and Pedley & Gordinier.[2]

He succeeded Mario Cordero as Chairman of the FMC, who left office in 2017.[3] Khouri was first nominated to the commission by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in December 2009. President Donald Trump named Michael A. Khouri as chairman on March 7th, 2019.[4][1]
