Species

There are currently three recognized species in this genus:[1]

  • Metelectrona ahlstromi Wisner, 1963
  • Metelectrona herwigi Hulley, 1981 (Herwig's lanternfish)
  • Metelectrona ventralis (Becker, 1963) (Flaccid lanternfish)
