Mats Kettilmundsson
Mats Kettilmundsson (also Mattias Kettilmundsson) (died 11 May 1326) was a Swedish riksdrots and statesman who was head of government in Sweden under the short regency there of Duchess Ingeborg (mother of boy king Magnus IV) in 1318–1319.[1][2]
As commander of the military in Swedish Finland, but against the wishes of the Swedish government, in 1325 he crossed the Gulf of Finland and attacked Tallinn (then a Danish possession), alleging that the city must be punished for executing four of his soldiers who had gone on a rampage there. He died the following year.[3]
