Matheus Alueendo

Major General Matheus Alueendo ( born in 04 March 1961) is a Namibian military officer who is the current Commander of the Namibian Army (NA). He was appointed the Commander of the Namibian Army on 31 July 2019.[2][3][4][5]

Career

General Alueendo military career began in 1978 when he joined PLAN in exile participating in the liberation struggle,we was repatriated to Namibia and began his career in the Namibian Army in July 1990 after being commissioned as a lieutenant. General Alueendo is a Military Intelligence officer who has served in various roles within the directorate including as Chief of Staff Defence Intelligence from November 2013. In September 2018 he was appointed as the Deputy Namibian Army Commander.

  • 2009: Masters of Arts in Strategic and Security Studies (MASSS), University of Namibia.
  • 2014: Advance Military Diploma,Academy of General Staff, Russia.
  • 2016: Advance post graduate military qualification ('ndc') India National Defence College, India.
  • 2018: Masters of Philosophy Degree Strategic Studies, Madras University, India.
