Mary Spender

Mary Spender (born 2 July 1990) is a singer-songwriter and YouTube personality from the United Kingdom.[3] She writes and performs original songs and hosts a popular YouTube channel.[3] She has guest-starred on other popular YouTube channels such as Andertons and That Pedal Show.[3] Her YouTube program Tuesday Talks, also known as Chewsday Tawks, has achieved more than 250,000 fans and 6.2 million views as of 2019, although Spender has since ended it as a regular feature.[3] Her show has featured interviews with performers such as K.T. Tunstall, James Valentine, Devin Townsend and Kaki King, and often features commentary on new music technology, often related to the guitar.[4][5][3][6][7] Her guitar style was described as "crisp" with a "harmonically rich, percussive style"; her songwriting is confessional, with clear and "sultry" vocals.[6][3][8] She travels extensively; she has been based in locations such as Long Island City in New York State, as well as the seaside resort town in the United Kingdom of Brighton[3] and the city of Bristol.[9] Her music has been broadcast on the BBC Radio.[10] She studied classical music as a youth.[11]
