Life and education

Malveaux was born in Lynwood, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts from University of Virginia and her Juris Doctor from University of Richmond School of Law.[1]

She previously served as a district court judge for the 14th Judicial District in Virginia.[2][3]

Service on Virginia Court of Appeals

She was elected by the General Assembly on March 11, 2016, to an eight-year term beginning April 16, 2016, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Stephen R. McCullough.[1][2] Her current term expires in on April 15, 2024.[4] Her appointment to the court makes her only the second African-American appointed to the Appeals court in its history.[3]
