Geology

The formation regionally overlies the Chico Formation and regionally underlies the Tejon Formation or the Ione Formation.

It is exposed in the Clevelin Hills in Riverside County, Santa Ana Mountains in Orange County, northwestern Santa Monica Mountains near Calabasas in Los Angeles County, and north of Mount Diablo/south of the Sacramento Delta in Contra Costa County.[1]

Fossils

The formation preserves fossils dating back to the Paleogene period.[2]

gollark: Whatever the cause actually is, I'm not sure there really is a hugely consistent one.
gollark: Destroying random people's stuff is unlikely to make anyone sympathetic to the cause.
gollark: We live in a society.
gollark: What does capitalism have to do with this?
gollark: There does seem to be a decent amount of weirdness like that surrounding this whole thing.
