Marilyn Lima

Marilyn Lima (born September 28, 1995) is a French actress known for her roles in Une sirène à Paris (2020), Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story) (2015) and Skam France (2018—2020).

Career

Originally from Bordeaux, Marilyn Lima had no formal acting training when she was discovered by Eva Husson. The director came across Marilyn Lima's Tumblr blog while casting for her film Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story) (2015).[1][2] [3] After an informal meeting at a café, Lima was chosen to play the character of George.

She then continued her career on television with Entre deux mères (2016) and Des jours meilleurs (2017).[4] In 2017, she was chosen to play the character of Manon Demissy in the French adaptation of Skam.[5]

On April 23, 2019, she announced via Instagram that she would be in the music video for DJ Petit Biscuit's "We Were Young" featuring JP Cooper. On November 5, 2019, Lima announced via Instagram that she was filming for Julien Leclercq's Sentinelle, due to be released in 2020.[6]

Screen Daily reported that Lima had been cast along with Nicolas Duvauchelle in Une Sirène à Paris, Mathias Malzieu's directorial debut based on his novel of the same name.[7][8] The film secured a theatrical release on March 11, 2020 but was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Once theatres began to reopen following the initial stay-at-home order, the film was re-released on June 22, 2020.[9]
