Marie-Christine Lévesque

Marie-Christine Lévesque (1958 – 16 July 2020) was a Canadian author and editor.[1][2][3]

She was a partner of Serge Bouchard.[4] She was also co-author of many of his books including: Le peuple rieur. Hommage à mes amis innus (Nouvelle fenêtre), Lux Éditeur, 2017; Elles ont fait l’Amérique : De remarquables oubliés, tome 1 (Nouvelle fenêtre), Lux Éditeur, 2011;[5] Ils ont couru l’Amérique : De remarquables oubliés, tome 2 (Nouvelle fenêtre), Lux Éditeur, 2014; Les images que nous sommes : 60 ans de cinéma québécois (Nouvelle fenêtre), Éditions de l’Homme, 2013.[6][7].

Personal life

Together with Serge Bouchard, they adopted a child from China.[6]

Awards

Lévesque received the 2005 Applied Arts Award for the cover design of 9 Vues, a book presenting the engravings of Louise Masson that accompanied the poetry of Daniel Danis,[8] and a 2005 design award for the complete book, Peau/Parfum/Noire.[9] In 2018 she received a Le Prix Victor-Barbeau award.[10]

Death

Lévesque died on 16 July 2020 of brain cancer.[2]
