Mariano Tristán y Moscoso
Mariano Tristán y Moscoso (1760–1807) was a Spanish military man and politician, who served as commander of the Dragons Regiment of Arequipa (Peru).[1]

Biography
He was born in Arequipa, Perú, the son of José Joaquín de Tristán del Pozo and María Mercedes Moscoso y Pérez Oblitas, belonging to a noble family.[2] He started his studies in France and Spain.[3]
Mariano Tristán y Moscoso died on 14 June 1807 in Paris, France, where he had lived for several years. He was the brother of Domingo Tristán and Pío de Tristán.[4] He was married in Bilbao to Anne-Pierre Laisnay, born in Paris, daughter of Jean Laisney and Thérèse Ameline. He and his wife were the parents of Flora Tristan, a famous French writer of the 19th century.[5]
