Biography

He was born on May 28, 1761 in Graz. He was ordained as Bishop of Hradec Králové on September 8, 1795.[2] On November 26, 1811, he was elected Archbishop of Olomouc. Due to the imprisonment of Pope Pius VII by Napoleon Bonaparte, papal approval of this decision did not take place until March 15, 1814. On September 23, 1816, he was appointed cardinal.[3]

He died in Vienna on January 20, 1819 and was buried in Olomouc.[1]
