Maria Kownacka
Maria Kownacka (1894–1982) was a Polish writer, translator and editor, specializing in children's literature.
Biography
She was a long time writer of Płomyk. In occupied Poland, she continued to write for the underground press, even during the Warsaw Uprising.[1]
Likely her best known work is the series of books about "Plastuś", that begun with Plastusiowy pamiętnik (1936).[1]
Awards
She received the Order of the Smile, the Award of the Prime Minister of Poland (twice) and Award of the City of Warsaw.[1]
