Mandal tehsil

Mandal is a tehsil located in the Bhilwara district in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is one of the twelve tehsils in Bhilwara district.[1] Administrative headquarters are in the village of Mandal. Mandal tehsil has a total area of 1,219 km², and a population of 235,640.[2] As of the 2011 census, there were 215 villages in Mandal tehsil.[2]

Bhilwara district came into existence in 1949, which constituted the merger of the Banera and Badnor chieftainships of Mewar State with Mandalgarh and Shahpura Thikana.[3]
