History
The school originally opened in 1912 under the name Madison Continuation School. Its name was changed to Madison Vocational School in 1916 and it moved to this site in 1921. Eventually, its name was changed again in 1967 to Madison Area Technical College. The college has since sold the building and it began a transformation into a hotel building.[1]
It was added to the State Register of Historic Places in 2018 and to the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.[2]
