The film was announced by debutant director N. Kishore in mid-2018, who revealed that the film would be produced by Sri Green Productions and star Sibi Sathyaraj in the lead role.[4] The film is reported to be based on the mystery of a 5000 year old temple, and the makers stated the film is made in the genre of a "mythological thriller".[5] Ilaiyaraaja was signed as the film's music composer and Sathyan Sooriyan was announced as the cinematographer, but he was later replaced by Ram Prasad. The film's official motion poster was released online on 25 August 2018.[6]

Tanya Ravichandran signed the film in October 2018, and stated that she would begin working on her scenes during the following month.[7][8] The film was shot across regular schedules in late 2018 and early 2018, with the team filming scenes at Binny Mills during January 2019.[9]

gollark: Apioprotocol 118?
gollark: Lemons? DISCONNECT.
gollark: What do you mean you could "see that happening"? I implemented the disconnection thing. Parse error? DISCONNECT. Don't send a `type` field in your message? DISCONNECT. Send `identify` when your state isn't `connected`? DISCONNECT. Send anything other than `identify` when your state *is* `connected`? DISCONNECT.
gollark: To annoy people, I'm going to make SPUDNET disconnect clients if they make any sort of protocol mistake whatsoever.
gollark: I am excellent at language nitpicking.
