M. A. Awal

M A Awal (এম,এ,আউয়াল) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the incumbent Member of Parliament from Lakshmipur-1.

Early life

Awal was born on 16 March 1968. He completed his Masters in social science.[1]

Career

Awal was elected to Parliament on 5 January 2014 from Lakshmipur-1 as a Bangladesh Tarikat Federation candidate.[2] On 17 April 2018, he was removed from the post of Secretary General of Bangladesh Tariqat Federation.[3] On 16 September 2018, he led the Bangladesh Tarikat Federation in joining the Islamic Democratic Alliance, an alliance of Islamist parties that support the Bangladesh Awami League government.[4]
