On 30 July 2012, Mpeta joined Platinum Stars on a three-year contract, after playing a friendly with them against Bidvest Wits.[2][3]

In January 2015, Mpeta rejected an offer by Platinum Stars to renew his contract with interest in him from SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic.[4]

Mpeta was called up to the South Africa senior squad in November 2014, ahead of the 2015 AFCON qualifying matches against Sudan and Nigeria,[9][10] but did not play, with the coach preferring to play Sibusiso Khumalo.[11]

gollark: In potatOS you can add, subtract, and concatenate functions.
gollark: You could do CC's current "5.1ish", and a "5.4" option, and... rewrite all the BIOS/CraftOS code to work in both, I guess? I don't know how practical that is.
gollark: It'd literally just be `debug.setfenv`, I think.
