Lundtofte

Lundtofte is a town in Lyngby-Taarbæk Municipality, located north of Kongens Lyngby. The town is bordered by Nærumbanen, the Mølleåen river, DTU and the Helsingørmotorvejen. The town of Brede is also sometimes considered part of Lundtofte.

Major companies Haldor Topsøe and IBM, their head office and a large branch respectively at Lundtofte's industrial district. DTU is situated on the location of the former Lundtofte Flyveplads.

Several bus lines serve the town, and Nærumbanen has the stops in Brede, Ørholm and Ravnholm. A light rail station at Lundtofte park is planned, on the location where previously space for a commuter train station was allocated.

  • Brita Drewsen (1887 – 1983 in Lundtofte) a Swedish artist and businesswoman who spent her working life in Denmark, creating household textiles and handicrafts.
  • Hedevig Rasmussen (1902 – 1985 in Lundtofte) a Danish freestyle swimmer who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics
