Amateur career
Luis had an amateur record of 36-4. He won the a Bronze medal at the 2009 Cadet Mexican National Championships and a Silver medal at the Mexican National Championships.
Professional career
On January 29, 2011 Cavita beat the veteran Charly Valdez at the Estadio Banorte in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.[2][3]
