Louiza Patikas

Louiza Patikas (born 1976/1977) is a British actress, best known for her portrayal of Helen Titchener in the long-running radio soap opera, The Archers. Although she had, as of 2016, played the character for 16 years[2] since she left drama school,[1] she was generally little-known to the public, until her character's involvement in a storyline about domestic abuse and coercive control caught the public imagination.[1][3] Patikas discussed the storyline on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour in March 2016.[4]

In December 2016, Patikas selected and presented her round-up of the year's radio highlights for BBC Radio 4's Pick of the Year.[5]

She also works as a journalist and fashion stylist.[6]

She grew up in Reigate, where she attended St Bede's School.

In 2007, she married actor Jonathan Aris, whom she met while making the 2005 ITV comedy drama Planespotting.[6]

In June 2017, it was announced Patikas would be joining the cast of long-running ITV soap opera Coronation Street as medical centre practice manager Moira Pollock. She departed the show in November 2017.[7] In February 2018, however, Patikas reprised her role as Moira full-time [8]
