Our Girl is a British television military drama series, written and created by Tony Grounds, first broadcast on BBC One on 24 March 2013.[1] Following a feature-length pilot episode, a full series of five episodes was commissioned, commencing broadcast on 21 September 2014.[1]

Georgie meets aid worker Kicki, who runs a charity hospital across the border. When Kicki is later kidnapped by a terrorist group, Georgie's determination to find her lands her in great danger.

Having been taken hostage by the terrorist group, Georgie finally learns of Kicki's whereabouts. With the help of 2 Section, Elvis' unit mount an attack on the base and manage to bring Georgie to safety, but Kicki isn't so fortunate.

Georgie identifies members of the Al Shabad cell, which allows Special Forces to co-ordinate an air strike on their suspected holding ground. Captain James announces that 2 Section have been granted two days rest before returning home to Britain, but during a beach party, a robbery in a nearby hotel turns into a shootout, forcing Elvis to take dramatic action. An exhausted Georgie can't wait to get home to see her family and fiancė Jamie, but unable to hide his feelings any longer, a desperate Elvis is forced to come clean.

Georgie continues to make plans for her wedding, but is surprised when Elvis summons her to a private meeting in Whitehall with Special Branch. As Jamie begins to grow increasingly concerned about Georgie's welfare, he seeks out Captain James for advice. Elvis and his unit are called to assist when intel suggests that Abu and his associates are to carry out a series of co-ordinated attacks across Manchester.

Elvis persuades Georgie that Abu will target her wedding ceremony, forcing her to postpone the wedding until the following day. But just as she prepares to walk down the aisle, Georgie realises who the real target is, and with the help of Elvis, sets about bringing Abu to justice.

As Georgie and the others are freed in a stunning operation, 2 Section and special forces work on recovering the beaten and imprisoned Nigerian military medic, trading him for the rebel leader's son who has been detained by 2 Section. A tense stand-off ensues, with the rebels booby-trapping the prisoners. Will they all make it out alive?

Wanting to prove herself a capable leader on the training exercise, she leads a team against James to settle a score, but is forced to step up when events take a turn for the worse. 2 Section retreat back to base to raise the alarm, while Georgie and James must work together to evade the wrath of a lethal drug gang who are operating nearby.

She supports new recruit Mimi, who is struggling to adjust to how fast paced the army is. Georgie encourages her to call her parents, but when Georgie leaves, Mimi does not call them.

The team are awoken by the sound of a bomb. They help out at a hospital, where Mimi oversees the recovery of a young girl that needs her leg amputating. She puts up posters to raise awareness of the girl, and while she is not there, the girl's uncle takes her, unaware of her condition. Georgie learns that residents believe the vaccines being given are poisoned. Georgie accompanies Dr. Bahil giving the vaccinations, acting as protection for her. However, the car is hijacked and Dr. Bahil is taken. Poya is dragged out of the car and shot.

Georgie visits Poya in hospital, but is not allowed to see him due to his condition. The team receive a video message from Dr. Bahil, and Georgie stresses that there is not an active plan to rescue her. Mimi realises that putting up posters of the ill girl in hospital may have led her to be taken by a stranger, and feels guilty. Georgie and Mimi help a woman to give birth while the rest of the team start to find Dr. Bahil. While on the way back to base, they are shot at, and while on the way into the van, Fingers is shot.

The team rush Fingers to a hospital, and while on the way, Georgie helps him to record a message for Marie. The hospital try to save him, but he dies. He knows Mimi from home, and is shocked to see how she is acting compared to how she acts at home. Georgie is told that she has been restricted to the barracks due them believing she has PTSD.

Mimi and Poya are sent to the hospital to perform medical duties, but when Mimi walks in on Poya with a suicide bomb strapped to his chest, she refuses to leave him. She talks him down by revealing her home life; her mother was a heroin addict and she was born addicted to heroin, and her adoptive parents put her back in care when they had their own child. She succeeds in making him stand down, but he is shot. Georgie finds the man responsible for Elvis' death, and him begging to be killed, Georgie leaves him. Talking about heaven with Prof, Georgie sets her engagement ring from Elvis off into the sky on a kite.
