Leonard Padilla
Leonard Padilla (born 1939) is an American bounty hunter. In 1975 he opened a bail bond company in Sacramento, California. He was chairman of the board of trustees of the Lorenzo Patiño Law School and a 1980 graduate of Lincoln Law School. Padilla has run for public office seven times, four times for Sacramento mayor, once for California governor in the 2003 recall election, once for Congress and once for Sacramento County Supervisor. The alternative weekly newspaper Sacramento News & Review named him one of Sacramento's most interesting people in 2010.[1] Padilla was born in Firebaugh, California.[2] Padilla grew up in California, moving frequently with his family to find field work.[3] Padilla graduated in 1957 from Tulelake High School, which is near the border of Oregon.[2] After graduating he enlisted in the Air Force, serving for four years abroad before being discharged in 1961.[2][3] Padilla attended law school from 1975 to his graduation in 1980.[2][4] In 1982, along with Judge Lorenzo Patiño, opened the Lorenzo Patiño Law School in downtown Sacramento, where he served as chairman of the board of trustees[2]
