Synopsis
Lazarus takes place in "Paradise City," a broken-down slum given its name due to the high crime rate and drug addiction. The streets are ruled by a drug lord who calls himself "Testament." When Testament tries to recruit "Ray Lazarus," a local mechanic and veteran turned ex-con, to distribute a vapor drug called "synth," Ray declines, and as a result is murdered. Ray's only intention was to discontinue the poisoning of his city, so he chose death over money. But because of his sacrifice, an ancient Ankh God secretly waging its own war for power and control brings Ray back to life, giving him super-human abilities. Recruiting some of his old military buddies, and with his newfound power, Ray and his crew wage war on Testament and his lieutenants for the remaining souls of the city.[1]
