Lauren Shrubsole

Lauren Shrubsole (born 16 October 1993) is a women's cricketer. She plays for Somerset Women as a right handed middle order batsman and right arm leg break bowler.[1] She is the younger sister of England player Anya Shrubsole and daughter of Ian Shrubsole.

Youth career

A keen cricketer, Shrubsole played for Bath Cricket Club Men's youth teams at Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s level, before graduating to the Somerset Men's Under 17s, where she recorded her career best bowling figures of 5 for 14. Her batting career high stands at 74, recorded whilst playing for Bath Under 15s.[2]

Senior career

Shrubsole made her senior debut in an LV Women's Championship 50-over match against Yorkshire.[3] Batting at number 8, Shrubsole was the last wicket to fall having scored 11. Shrubsole also took the only Yorkshire wicket to fall, finishing on figures of 2-0-19-1. She has since played 23 50-over matches and 13 T20 matches, all for Somerset, taking 25 wickets at a combined average of 31.64 and scored 176 runs in 23 innings at an average of 7.65.[1]
