History

Cherri Senders founded Labor 411 and has been its publisher[3] since 2008.[4] The site's directories guide users to providers of items that are union-made, segregated into different categories of goods and services. The purpose of the organization is to support the Buy American movement and raise awareness of what goods or services qualify as American and union-made.[5] Labor 411 produces annual, city-specific directories for Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.[4] Labor 411 also regularly produces topical "buy union" guides around such events as the Super Bowl,[6][7] summer recreation, and the holiday shopping season.[8][9]

Affiliations

The organization is affiliated with the Los Angeles Federation of Labor,[10] the chartered Central Labor Council (CLC) of the AFL-CIO in Los Angeles County.[11] They also run the Labor 411 Foundation,[5] which advocates for workers’ rights and leads public awareness campaigns regarding issues like wages and hours restrictions.[12]

gollark: I should probably try the "aim trainer" thing with an actual mouse and not this trackpad.
gollark: Fascinating.
gollark: Bow before my superior intellect, mortals.
gollark: Haven't we all?
gollark: I am not in any way selling or assisting in selling pizza and I DO NOT work for pizza companies in any form. This is NOT true. I have not in any way been sponsored by pizza companies. There have been no advertising agreements whatsoever with any companies producing pizza or otherwise to have me subliminally advertise pizza, as my profile picture is not a pizza. Since it is not a pizza, this is obviously not pizza advertisement whatsoever. No monetary exchanges or otherwise have occurred with companies engaged in pizza production for any reason relating to my profile picture. It's not pizza. There were no deals, under-the-table or otherwise, with pizza companies. No pizza companies pay for any kind of advertising involving me. I'm DEFINITELY not paid by pizza companies to do ANY pizza advertising or sales.
