Kuratau
Kuratau is a small village north of Omori, on the western side of New Zealand's Lake Taupo.[1] The population in the 2013 census was 273 people in 117 households; 22.0 percent of the population was under 15 and 15.4 percent were over 65.[2] Approximately 76% of the population is of European origin and approximately 37% is of Maori origin. The most commonly spoken language is English.


Kuratau
The Kuratau Power Station was built on the Kuratau River near the town and completed in 1962.
The local Poukura Marae and Parekawa meeting house is a meeting place of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa hapū of Ngāti Parekāwa.[3][4]
Education
Kuratau School is a co-educational state primary school,[5][6] with a roll of 107 as of March 2020.[7][8]

gollark: I don't think the fuel is the main cost as much as the generally-not-reusable rockets.
gollark: Some of the Starlink satellites have communications lasers also.
gollark: I think you could technically have a "space laser" for only a few tens of kilodollars if you stick a few-watt laser diode onto a CubeSat or something. But it wouldn't be very good.
