Kročehlavy

Kročehlavy is a part of the industrial city of Kladno in the Czech Republic. About 40,000 inhabitants live there.

Building of a former brewery

In history, Kročehlavy was a stand-alone village. First mentions about Kročehlavy, found in local annals, go back to 1316, when writing about member of lower Czech nobility, Zdeněk Kladenský from Kladno.

Till the 19th century, number of people living in Kročehlavy was about 130 people. After the burst of coal mining and metallurgic industry the population soared multiple times. Kročehlavy was first merged with Kladno in 1938 for few years, then again and till now in 1948.

Famous football coach Karel Kolský was born here, as well as footballers Josef Košťálek and Václav Horák.
