Koropi station

Koropi railway station (Greek: Κορωπί σταθμός Λεπτοκαρυάς, romanized: Sidirodromikos stathmos Koropi) is a railway station that serves that serves both the Proastiakos suburban railway and Line 3 of the Athens Metro. It is east of the town of Koropi in East Attica. It opened to Proastiakos trains on 30 July 2004,[2] with Athens Metro services calling at this station from 10 July 2006.[3]

The station's platforms have two levels, with each end serving trains from either the Athens Metro or Proastiakos: Proastiakos Kiato-Airport line trains stop at the northern end while Athens Metro Line 3 trains stop at the southern end.[4] As of 2013 the station is served by three Proastiakos trains per hour to the airport, two to Ano Liosia and one to Kiato.[5]

Future

Koropi is expected to become a junction station with the opening of a 32 km branch line to Lavrio.[6]
