kkStB Class 73

The 0-8-0 steam locomotives of kkStB Class 73 were operated by the Imperial Royal Austrian State Railways (kaiserlich-königliche österreichische Staatsbahnen), or k.k.StB, for freight duties. They were built by the Wiener Neustädter Lokomotivfabrik between 1878 and 1911. After 1921 they were later operated by Österreichische Bundesbahnen (ÖBB) and following the annexation of Austria in 1938, they were incorporated within Deutsche Reichsbahn Class 55.

Preservation

Three examples are preserved: one on a plinth at the ŽOS České Velenice Ceske Velenice, one at Slovenian Railway Museum in Ljubljana, and the third at the Heizhaus, Strasshof.
