While Kiss of Heaven has been credited as the debut solo album of Darlene Zschech, it is not her first solo album. Her first solo album was simply called Make The Choice (1987), and a second called Pearls and Gold was released in Australia in 1993.
Album details
Kiss of Heaven comprises fourteen originally-recorded "Christian pop" and worship songs. Five tracks are worth notable:
- "Beautiful Savior" ("Fairest Lord Jesus") is a 1677 hymn.
- "Everything About You" is a song written about her husband, Mark.
- "Shout to the Lord" is Zschech's most famous song, sung by an estimated 25-30 million churchgoers a week. Originally recorded on Hillsong's live album, People Just Like Us, it was also the title track for the Shout to the Lord album.
- "Irresistible" was originally recorded on Hillsong's live album, You Are My World.
- "Walk On" is a song by U2 that Zschech performs on this album with Martin Smith of Delirious?.
