Kheredine Idessane

Kheredine Idessane (born 1 December 1969)[1] is a Scottish football commentator for BBC Scotland[2][3] and a former amateur athlete. He is commonly heard on Sportsound, providing live commentary of Scottish Premier League matches, but he can also be heard commentating on highlights of Scottish Cup matches for Sportscene. Occasionally, he presents midweek editions of Sportsound.

He was born in Edinburgh, and was educated at Stewart's Melville College before moving on to Cambridge University and Oklahoma and Cardiff Schools of Journalism. His father is Moroccan and his mother is Scottish, from Musselburgh, East Lothian.

In May 2006, he was the commentator for Sportscene's live coverage of Scotland's two Kirin Cup matches, with Derek Whyte as his summariser. In 2009, he became BBC Scotland's new tennis reporter, with a brief to chart the rise of Scotland's Andy Murray.
