Kharel
Kharel (Nepali: खरेल) is a surname found in Nepal and the some parts in India. Kharel are the community of one of the 88 kumais resided in the kumoan valley of Uttrakhand. They travel to Nepal in the later years when the mu gals invaded India. They moved to the hilly region of Nepal (pahad) for farming and cattle grazing with other kumai community and lived with the locals (Limbu, Rai, Sherpa, Bhutia) there. Kharel was known as Khare until they moved to nepal where the local started calling them Kharel.
