Kerala Fashion League

Kerala Fashion League (KFL) Kerala Fashion League is a fashion week held annually in Kochi and Calicut. It was founded on 27 May 2015 by Abhildev from Calicut. The first season of Kerala Fashion League was held at Kochi on 27 May 2015.[1]

Fashion Event of Kerala

Kerala Fashion League is a fashion event held in Kochi and Calicut. It was founded on 24 March 2015 by Abhildev. The event was held at Crowne Plaza, Kochi and raviz Calicut. It aims at promoting local designers and displaying their collection along with the leading brands in the country. It also gives young aspiring models and designers opportunity to display their talent.

Walk the Ramp

Numerous celebrities and models have walked the ramp for KFL which helped in gaining country-wide attention. Andrea Jeremiah, Nikki Galrani, Miya, Parvathi Omanakuttan, Neha Saxena, Pearle Maaney, Aalap Raju,[2] Naresh Iyer, Junaid Sheikh, Aditi Arya,[3] Nikita, U. Rajesh, Niyaz, Renjini Jose, Niranjana, Prayaga Rose Martin, Rohini Mariam Idicula are few of the celebrities who walked the ramp for inaugural KFL. The models include Diana Earappa, Archana K. Akhil Kumar, Noyonitha Lodh.

Behind the Scenes

Designers from major cities including like Bangalore, Delhi, New York, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai etc. participate in the show. James Ferriera, Aslam Khan, Asmita Marwa, Shravan Ramaswamy, Chaitanya Rao, Rehane, Raj Shroff, Sanjana Jon, Renuka C. Shekhar, Anand Siya are the leading designers of the show.[4]

The shows are choreographed by Dalu Krishnadas, Sunil Menon, Jude Felix, Jackie Besterwitch, Faheem and Sandeep Gowda while Robert Naorem takes care of hair and make-up.[5]

Season 1 - Kerala Fashion League 2015

Kerala Fashion League Season 1 was conducted as a soft opening or a pre launch at Crowne Plaza, Kochi on 27 May 2015.

Season 2 - Kerala Fashion League 2015

Kerala's largest fashion league was officially flagged off after its pre launch later in 2015. Its intention was to uplift the sense of fashion among the natives of the state and also give a chance for all the aspiring designers and models to showcase their collection along with the leading labels of the country and abroad. Following the grand success of Kerala Fashion League 2015 held at Crowne Plaza, Kerala Fashion League 2016 was held on March 3, 2016.[6]

Season 3 - Kerala Fashion League 2016

Kerala Fashion League 2016 was hosted on March 3 at Crowne Plaza, Kochi. Celebrity show-stoppers for the event were Sreesanth (Brand Ambassador), Bhavana, Bhama, Ragini Dwivedi, Ragini Nandwani, Akanksha Puri, and Aditi Arya.[7]

Season 4 - Kerala Fashion League 2016

Kerala Fashion League Season 4 is set to be held at Crowne Plaza, Kochi on 23 November 2016.

Fashion for a Cause

The founder, Abhildev initiated and promoted Rice Bucket Challenge [8] in the state making fashion a room for charity as well. Several people joined hands for the poor and collected around 2 lack kg of rice which were distributed among the deserved.[9]

Attendance

Admission to shows at Kerala Fashion League is typically in the form of accreditation, with specific events by invitation only.
