Personal life

Kartikeya is born to Gummakonda Vittal Reddy & Gummakonda Rajani. His father is the Chairman of Nagarjuna Group of Schools. He finished his schooling in Naagarjuna School at Vanasthalipuram, Ranga Reddy District & continued his 10+2 in Sri Chaitanya Colleges, Vijayawada. Graduating from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal, he later chose to continue his career in acting.[1]

Career

Kartikeya made his acting debut with Prematho Mee Karthik (2017), which went unnoticed.[1] His second movie, RX 100, directed by Ajay Bhupathi, was a success at the box office.[3][1][4][5] His performance as a village man who falls for a city girl was praised by critics.[6] His next film was Hippi, directed by Tamil director Krishna and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu.[7][8] Kartikeya worked out in order to achieve authenticity in the role of a kickboxer.[6] The film was released to below average reviews.[9] His second film of 2019 was Guna 369, which received mixed reviews because of its slow-moving and clichéd content.[10][11] Guna 369 is about a real incident that took place in Ongole.[12] In a review of the film by The Times of India, the reviewer wrote that "Karthikeya does his best to pour life into the titular character".[13] Kartikeya made his first appearance as a villain opposite Nani in Gang Leader.[14][15] Kartikeya landed the role after the film's director Vikram Kumar liked his acting in RX 100,[14] and he received positive reviews for his portrayal of Dev.[16] His last release of 2019 was 90ML.[17][18][19] In a review of the film by The Times of India, the reviewer wrote that "Kartikeya gets a role that requires him to dance like a dream and fight like a pro for the most part and he aces it completely".[20]
