In 1993, she played Ophelia in a musical adaptation of Hamlet.[1] Four years later on February 17, 1997, she married her Hamlet co-star Toshi, lead singer of the heavy metal band X Japan. Toshi filed for divorce in February 2010, saying that for the past ten years they "effectively have not been husband and wife." He also claimed that for the same duration she has been living with Tōru Kurabuchi (倉渕透), better known as "Masaya", the leader of a self-help organization called Home of Heart and her label Healing World.[1][2]
