While fostering entrepreneurship amongst the community from the Kanara region, KE aims to expand its activities through affiliations with individuals or associations with similar objectives throughout the world.

KE has set an ambition to share knowledge, entrepreneurs skills & best practices to the community at large and also to help them to excel in their endeavours in achieving their goals.

Membership is open to Entrepreneurs, Senior Corporate Executives and Senior Professionals hailing or having their roots in the Kanara Region who have the willingness to share their strengths with others and the commitment to strive for the betterment of its members.

KE uses skill development programmes and mentoring sessions for students, entrepreneurs and professionals who want to startup or are in the need for existing businesses or careers. KE does this activity pro bono. It holds meetings for members every 2 months for discussions on initiatives, conducts skill development sessions for members themselves, and, in a few cases conduct charity sessions to help deserving catholic institutions. Post the Corona Virus outbreak, KE has also conducted multiple webinars covering different topics of utility to Entrepreneurs.

KE has signed affiliations with like minded organizations such as Christian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Dimensions in Mumbai and Rachana in Mangalore to co-operate on bolstering their objectives to foster entrepreneurship within the community.

One of KE's primary objectives is helping students and deserving individuals in their startup or business journey, as Forbes estimates that 90% startups fail.[1] KE tries to address this issue for its members by 'Spotlighting' them in an online news site, Bfirst, for greater visibility. To reduce the failure rate for students and individuals in the catholic community, KE mentors students and individuals to increase their success ratio. In this regard, KE has MOU's (Memorandum of Understanding) with a number of institutions for regular hourly sessions with KE members to help their students and prevent mistakes learnt from its large pool of resources. KE has signed MOU's with Christ University, Bangalore,[2] St. Josephs Institute of Management,[3] Bangalore and St. Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology,[4] Mangalore. Since 2016, over 30 KE members have conducted teaching sessions in Christ University, Bangalore to help students understand the importance of real time experience, avoid mistakes and prepare them for success

Background

KE Bangalore chapter was formed when KE Global and FKCA (Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations), met on 17 November 2007 to create a non profit forum in Bangalore. In the beginning, 14 Entrepreneurs came forward to pilot the initial initiative as Lead members. The Bangalore organization was registered as an Association of Persons on 10 December 2008. Since then, KE Bangalore has registered members from over 75 industry segments coming from various locations in Bangalore, Mangalore, Ooty, and the Kanara region, all working pro bono on its objectives. KE has 2 types of members: Lead Members who spend extra time and effort in mentoring various initiatives, and, Ordinary Members, who draw from the pool of experience available within the KE network.

KE publishes a quarterly Newsletter, and in 2012 and 2014 conducted Entreprenet[5] a global conference to bring together all the entrepreneurs of the Kanara region to so that they could mutually contribute towards skill development and mentorship of all institutions.

KE Global and Chapters

KE Global overseas the activities of all chapters to ensure they are within the purview of its constitution and manages central functions such as technology platforms as well as organizing global events and industrial tours for the benefit of all its chapters. Currently there are two chapters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and Bangalore India. In addition, KE Global administers a Virtual Membership - open to all Mangaloreans resident outside the two locations with existing Chapters.

Each chapter of KE is managed by an Honorary Board of Directors (BOD) which is elected by Lead Members every two years.[6] The Board of Directors are responsible for the well being and progression of their chapter. The KE Global board is represented by a few nominated members from each chapter.

gollark: Plus it might be dependent on long-term environmental things or genetics, in which case good luck.
gollark: I would assume it's because the immune system still isn't extremely well-understood, and vaccination is easier and more consistent.
gollark: Huh, this somehow runs at 100 FPS.
gollark: The existing things I know of just use textures for IO as there's not any other way.
gollark: I'm not sure how you'd do it as something which is actually shadery and renders recognizable output.
