Kacchi Plain
History
Kacchi, located in the plain, was an administrative division of the Khanate of Kalat, a princely state that joined Pakistan in 1947.[2]
Geography
Plain
The Kacchi Plain is an arid plain with mountain ranges on three sides except to the east, located in:
- the Kachhi District and Lasbela District
- the southern part of Sibi District, extending into the Nasirabad Division
- the southern part of Dera Bugti District
Mountain ranges
There are three main mountain ranges in Balochistan:
- the Central Makran Range (2,000–3,000 metres (6,600–9,800 ft));
- the Siahan Range (1,000–2,000 metres (3,300–6,600 ft)).
Archaeology
Mehrgarh is one of the most important neolithic sites (7000 BCE to c. 2500 BCE) in archaeology and is located in Kacchi Plain.
