Joseph J. Lewis

Joseph J. Lewis (October 5, 1801 – April 5, 1883) was the 2nd IRS commissioner.[1][2]

Early life

Lewis was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania to Quaker Enoch Lewis who taught mathematics at the Westtown School.[1]
