Josep Maria Benet i Jornet

Josep Maria Benet i Jornet (Catalan pronunciation: [ʒuˈzɛb məˈɾi.ə βəˈnɛt]; 20 June 1940 – 6 April 2020) was a Spanish [1] playwright and TV writer.[2]

Biography

He was born in Barcelona.

In 1997, he was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi by the Catalan government. He died from COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic in Spain on 6 April 2020 at the age of 79.[3]
