Company
The Jopwell platform was launched in January 2015 by cofounders Porter Braswell and Ryan Williams.[2] Companies using Jopwell have access to a digital pipeline of candidate profiles through which they can market job and internship opportunities and connect with users.[3] The current user base includes Black, Latino/Hispanic, and Native American professionals and students.[1] New users sign up by creating a profile viewable to recruiters at companies using the platform.[4] It aims to solve the "pipeline" problem wherein some companies' perceive that there aren't enough good candidates for diverse recruitment.[1]
Funding
Jopwell has secured a total of $4.22 million in early stage -- angel and seed round—funding.[5] Investors include Magic Johnson Enterprises, Andreessen Horowitz, Kapor Capital, Y Combinator, Omidyar Network, Valar Ventures, and Rothenberg Ventures.[6][1]
The Well
The Well is Jopwell’s editorial hub. Launched[7] on April 11, 2016, it is a source for Black, Latino/Hispanic, and Native American professionals and students to find and share career advice and workforce insight.
