Jon Michelet
Jon Michelet (14 July 1944, Moss – 14 April 2018, Oslo[1]) was a Norwegian novelist. He had experience in various lines of work, including sailor and dock worker and references to these experiences can be found in his writing.

Author and editor
He's well known for his action-thriller novel Orion's Belt (1977). The novel was adapted into a 1985 film by the same name, which is regarded as Norway's first modern action film. He also wrote a number of thrillers and crime novels. Michelet created the work En sjøens helt (in Norwegian), a series of books consisting of six volumes about Norwegian war sailors during World War II and their destinies.
He was the editor-in-chief of the Norwegian far-left daily Klassekampen from 1997 to 2002.

He had various positions of trust, including being a member of the board of Norsk Styrmandsforening.
Family
He had four daughters, Marte Michelet,[3] who was married to Ali Esbati—an MP in Sweden as of 2014, and Tania Michelet, Ellen Michelet and Stella Burstedt Michelet.
