Jon C. Kreitz

Jon C. Kreitz is a Rear Admiral in the United States Navy and Deputy Director of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.[1]

Biography

Kreitz is originally from Orange County, California. He has attended the Georgia Institute of Technology and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Career

Kreitz enlisted in the Navy in 1982. He was later commissioned an officer through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps. At sea, Kreitz served aboard the USS Bunker Hill (CG-52), the USS Mitscher (DDG-57) and the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) before holding command of the USS Stephen W. Groves (FFG-29) and the USS New York (LPD-21).

His duties ashore include serving with United States Pacific Command, the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and as President of the Board of Inspection and Survey. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Naval War College and the United States Army Command and General Staff College.

Awards Kreitz has received include the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
