John Robson (athlete)

John Robson (born 31 January 1957) in Kelso Scotland is a retired British male athlete who competed in the 1500m. He has a personal best time of 3 minutes and 33.83 seconds.

Athletics career

Robson competed for Scotland at the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton Canada winning a bronze medal Also running in the Commonweath Games in 1982 Brisbane Australia and 1986 Edinburgh Scotland. Indoors John ran for Great Britain And won another bronze medal at the 1979 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Vienna, Austria. Robson also finished 8th at the 1978 European Athletics Championships in Prague (in former Czechoslovakia).[1][2]

He also won the revered Emsley Carr Mile held at Crystal Palace London in 1978.

Robson PB in the mile was 3:52.44 800m 1.47.8 3000m 7.45 5000m 13.34

Ranked 4th in the World on time in 1500m event 1978 and 1979. Robson finished 5th in The World Cross Country Championships in 1980 held at Longchamp Paris
