Career

John Ferrentino began his career as the comic relief at the hospital he was working in as an x-ray technician, and soon began frequenting a club in Massapequa, Long Island called The White House.[4] Today, John is most known as a comedian and a comedy magician. He's performed thousands of shows across the country and has made over fifty television appearances.[7][4] He toured the world with Crosby, Stills, & Nash, before continuing to travel and perform on every major cruise line.[8] He is also a regular performer at the Magic Castle in Hollywood,[8][9][10] has invented magic tricks, written three books about magic (including Comedy Clubs for All Magicians)[11] and has lectured at magic conventions all over the country.[12][9][13]

Additionally, John has been a regular at The MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and performed at the World Summit of Magic in Washington DC.[13]

After performing comedy for 44 years, John returned to perform at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, igniting his love for magic.[14] This started a new journey into theatrical seance theater, and a new show was born in 2015 called “Do Spirits Return” with less emphasis on comedy and more on history, with original magic invented for the show and an element of paranormal.[14][15][16] It was based on the “The Waverly Hills Sanatorium”. [17]

The show and lecture was performed in theaters, magic conventions, and was taught as a course at Jeff McBrides Magic and Mystery School in Las Vegas. [16] [17]

In 2020, John became a co-host on an internet radio and podcast called "The Big Broadcast with Tom Drake, Dottie Kulasa and BJ Odom."[18]

Notable comedians John has performed alongside include Rosie O’Donald, Kevin James, Ray Romano, and Eddie Murphy[13][19][4] and he has also opened for Jay Leno, Chicago, and Huey Lewis and the News.[20][21][22][23] Announcements of his shows have been featured in New York Magazine[24] and The New York Times.[6] He has also been featured in the international magic magazine, Vanish.[4]

Podcasts and videos of John can be found on podbay,[7] iHeartRadio,[25] iTunes,[26] stitcher.com,[27] The Magic Cafe,[28] Laughing Out Loud: America's Funniest Comedians Vol. 5[19] (also featured in this DVD are Jerry Seinfeld, Brad Garrett, Kelsey Grammer, Adam Sandler, Max Alexander, John Caponera, John Ferrentino, Judy Tenuta, Carol Leifer, Jeff Foxworthy, and Rosie O'Donnell).[19] His magic course can be found on the Magic Academy DVD, Disk 8.[12]
