Life

The son of John Audland of Ackenthwaite, he was educated at Magdalen College School. He matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford, in 1871, graduating B.A. in 1876, M.A. in 1878. He became a Church of England priest and was vicar of Dinton, Wiltshire, 1886–1923.[1][2] Audland married Joanna Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of Edward Wilson of Ballycrana, county Cork.[2]

Audland played one first-class match for Oxford University Cricket Club in 1875.[3]

gollark: Broadly speaking, to the best of my knowledge: TVs accept commands from remotes as modulated infrared somehow. The basic modulation stuff is fairly consistent, but not all TVs support the same set of commands. So universal remote things can work by recording the data another remote sends when you press a particular button, saving it, and replaying it when you press a button on it.
