Joey Batey
Joey Batey is an English actor, musician, and singer-songwriter. He is best known for portraying Jaskier in the Netflix fantasy series The Witcher.

Life & Career
Batey was born in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1989. He has said he grew up in a "musical family" and has always been around music.[1] He studied at Robinson College, Cambridge. Whilst at Cambridge, he co-wrote and performed the sketch show ‘Good Clean Men’ with Alex Owen and Ben Ashenden (The Pin).[2][3] He trained at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris.
In 2013, Batey debuted in a British thriller Murder on the Home Front directed by Geoffrey Sax. In 2014, he appeared in The Riot Club directed by Lone Scherfig. In 2017, Paul McGuigan cast him as Eddie in Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool. Batey also played in the British TV series C.B. Strike (2017), In The Dark (2017), and Knightfall (2017).
He played the bard Jaskier in Netflix's adaptation of The Witcher, based on the Polish novel series of the same name. Batey's performance is notable due to his vocal prowess, which spawned the hit songs "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher" and "Her Sweet Kiss."[4][5][6]
He is a vocalist and musician for the indie folk band The Amazing Devil, as well as the primary writer and composer.[7] Their most recent album, The Horror and The Wild, was released on 29 February 2020.[8]
