Joan Reynolds

Joan Reynolds MBE was born in Crindau, Newport, Wales in 1925.[1] She served in the Royal Artillery regiment during World War II and trained in heavy anti-aircraft command post instruments and served on gun sites around Britain. At 17 she was promoted to Lance corporal. In 1982 she became secretary of the Bassaleg and Rhiwderin branch of The Royal British Legion which she has helped raise more than £250,000 for.[1]

Awards and honours

She was awarded Membership of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2003 Birthday Honours for her charity work.[1][2]
