Jitendra Tiwari

Jitendra Tiwari is an Indian politician of the Trinamool Congress. He is the current Mayor of Asansol and Member of the Legislative Assembly (India) from West Bengal Legislative Assembly representing the Pandaveswar[6] constituency.[7]

Controversies

Tiwari have been in controversies due to his acts and activism in political activities.

  • In March 2019 Election Commission of India sent show-cause notice to Jitendra Tiwari for announcing monetary reward to councillors who would fetch maximum lead for the party candidate in the Lok Sabha election.[8]
  • In May 2019 a footage of Tiwari was released by Times Now where he was caught threatening a police official in West Bengal's Durgapur.[9]
  • In June 2019 Tiwari accused BJP MLA Babul Supriyo for Threatening him on call.[10]
