Jim Hart (Ontario politician)

Jim Hart (listen) is a Canadian municipal politician who was appointed to Toronto City Council in 2017 to represent Ward 44 following the death in office of Ron Moeser. He was endorsed via a letter to council by Moeser's widow, Heather.[1] As of September 30, 2019, Hart was appointed to the Toronto Police Services Board for a three-year term. On October 22, 2019, he was elected interim Chair of the Board.[2]

Hart retired in 2014 after working for the City of Toronto government for 31 years.[3] He is a former general manager of the Toronto Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division[4] and also served as assistant to Moeser.[5]

Hart stated during his speech to council that if appointed, he will not seek re-election in the next Toronto election.
