Jiegao

Jiegao (Chinese: 姐告; pinyin: Jiěgào) is a town in southern China near the border with Myanmar. It is located 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) southeast of Ruili and is part of Yunnan province.

Geography

Jiegao is located with a river separating it with a finger of Myanmar land extending eastward.

Transport

A railway link between the China system and the Myanmar system was proposed in 2009. One possible route connects to the Myanmar railhead at Lashio.

Road

There is a bus direct from Kunming which takes 12 hours, via Baoshan, and goes along the old Burma Road (G320).

Air

The nearest airport is in Mangshi, two hours to the north, and it receives daily flights from Kunming in around 50 minutes.[1]
